The municipality of Dalaguete is well-known for its lush mountains and peaks. The very famous Osmeña Peak is one. But aside from the adventurous sites, Dalaguete has beautiful white sand beaches and beautiful gardens too. When we went for a hike to Mt. Kandungaw, we took a side trip to one of the famous flower gardens in Dalaguete. So here let me share to you a little photo diary of our side trip to Mt. Talongon Flower Garden after we had a very challenging hike at Mt. Kandungaw.
While we were on our way to the jumpoff point to Mt. Kandungaw, our habal-habal driver suggested other tourist locations we can visit. Since we didn't have a lot of spare time, we agreed on going to Mt. Talongon Flower Garden since it was just along the way. The flower garden is located in Sitio Alang-Alang, Mantalongon, Dalaguete. When you're coming from Poblacion, the garden is a few kilometers before the Mt. Kandungaw jumpoff point.
The entrance fee to Mt. Talongon Flower Garden is Php 50 but senior citizens and students are granted a 20% discount. We arrived at the farm around 3:30PM and the sun was still so high up. I was profusely sweating throughout our visit to the garden but it was okay.
Unlike the flower gardens in Sirao, Mt. Talongon had more kinds of flowers. They had petunias, snapdragons, roses, and of course, they had sunflowers which sets it apart from Sirao. I wanted to know the other flowers they had in Mt. Talongon but some didn't have their name plates. Hopefully they can put up on each of the flower specie soon.
During our visit, there were still some fields that had no flowers or were just newly-planted. Hopefully I can come back soon and be able to witness the garden with all the flowers already in full bloom.
