Well, hello there! Yes, this blog series is still alive, y'all! Haha. I haven't really been in the zone lately to write stuff but because we're all currently stuck at home so yeah, I forced myself to finally write about this. Excuses. Haha. Well, it's been four months since this weekend trip actually happened but since I have to keep this blog up to date, I'll share our weekend staycation experience at Seda Lio in El Nido, Palawan.
But first, here's a little back story on how this trip was made possible. Last May 2019, I attended an influencer slash blogger event hosted by Seda at Seda Ayala Center Cebu and in that event, they gave away lunch/dinner buffet vouchers and overnight stay in some of their properties around the country. Now, the grand prize was an overnight stay at Seda Lio with free airfare for two. Everybody got excited except me because I have never really been lucky with giveaways. But lo and behold, for the first time ever, my name was called. I won the grand prize! I was shocked. I couldn't believe I won. I was so happy!
A few months later, I contacted Seda to book our stay and settle our flight. I paid a thousand for the terminal fee since it wasn't included in the flight vouchers that I won. After everything was settled, I told Zayn about our upcoming weekend trip and he was so excited. We arrived at Lio Airport around 12:30PM.
Seda Lio offers free transfer from/to the airport so when we arrived, Seda's chauffeur was already there to meet us. Seda Lio is just five minutes away from Lio Airport. When we arrived at Seda Lio, Zayn got so much excited already but I had to check us in first. Their front office staff took a while to process our check-in because the funny thing is, I forgot to bring the actual voucher. I sent them a scanned copy and they printed it but it was actually really required to have the actual voucher. I got really nervous because I haven't been able to prepare an extra budget in case we'll end up paying for our stay. Haha. But thank heavens, none of that happened.
Our Room
We stayed at Seda Lio's Deluxe Room. It's a 45sqm. room with a king-sized bed and a balcony overlooking a little bit of the lobby and pool area. It was the second biggest room Zayn and I have stayed in (our room at Henry Hotel was the biggest so far). Zayn and I settled down first, took photos of the room, then rested for a bit. Zayn wanted to go to the pool already but I told him it was still too hot to be out so we made a deal to get out at around 4PM.Misto Restaurant
Our stay included a free breakfast buffet for two. Zayn and I went on an early morning dip at the pool, went back to take a shower, then went to Misto Restaurant at around 9AM to have our breakfast. I am so sorry I was not able to take photos of the buffet spread because I was too busy fulfilling my mommy duties that I only got to take one photo of the restaurant. Haha. Zayn had his usual Koko Krunch cereal followed with a rice meal. It was my second time to dine at Misto for breakfast because the first time was during my three-day stay at Seda Vertis North. And to tell you honestly, Misto's breakfast buffet is one of the best I've ever had—the kind that I would really love to splurge on.Pool Area
Seda Lio's pools are huge and for social media enthusiasts like me, very Instagrammable. Haha. The pool area is such a perfect spot to unwind and relax too.Beach Area
We actually hit the beach first before the pool and we spent some time here taking photos, relaxing, and listening to the sound of the huge waves. It wasn't really safe to swim that time because the waves were really huge but Zayn wanted to so bad. I just made sure he stayed on the shore and not go further because God knows I would kill myself if something bad happened. Just kidding but you know what I mean.It was sad to say goodbye to Seda Lio because we really had a wonderful time and if I could, I would go back there with Zayn in a heartbeat. I know, one day, we'll be back.
