Staycation Series: Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu

It has been a hectic and a demanding work week, and there’s no better way to end it than a weekend staycation at Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort. The moment I stepped into the resort, the staff welcomed me with the traditional Filipino warmth and hospitality. It wasn't my first time in Dusit Thani Mactan but it was my first time to actually stay for a night. I was excited and looking forward to this quick escape.

Deluxe room with a sea view

My room was a cozy 37 square meters, decorated in soothing earth tones and equipped with all the modern comforts. It was a sanctuary of comfort, featuring a plush bed, modern amenities, and a balcony with a stunning view of the ocean. The toilet and bath was spacious and well-equipped with the necessary amenities and toiletries set.

Thai dinner at Benjarong

The highlight of our stay was the special Four Hands, Two Minds, One Flavour Dinner at Benjarong, Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu's fine dining Thai restaurant. It was an exclusive six-course dinner and I'm grateful that I was one of the few who got to feast on the exquisite Thai dishes curated by renowned resident Thai Chef Suthin Songmuang and Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket's esteemed Executive Sous Chef Krit Pinsuay. Each course was a masterpiece, from the delicate amuse-bouche to the dessert that was a sweet finale. It was truly an unforgettable culinary experience.

Early morning workout at their fitness center

Staycations at hotels and resorts will always equate to "free" gym use for me, so yes, I made sure to squeeze in some workouts at Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu's fitness center. Impressively, it was well-equipped with modern machines and equipment that I spent almost two hours there. Had to make the most of my time there, you know?

Breakfast at Tradewinds

After a good and sweaty session, I went back to my room to wash up, and then rewarded myself with a well-deserved breakfast at the Tradewinds Café. Their breakfast buffet had a wide array of both Filipino and international flavors. I indulged in a bit of everything because after all, I had to replenish all the calories that I burned. Lol.

As my stay came to an end, I found it hard to say goodbye to Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu and say hello to "reality" again. Haha. Overall, I can say that Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience. It's a place where you can create lasting memories with your loved ones and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, a fun-filled family vacation, or an adventure-packed trip, this resort definitely has something for everyone.
