San Vicente: The next big thing in Palawan (4D3N Itinerary)

4D3N Itinerary in San Vicente, Palawan
My recent 4-day, 3-night stay in San Vicente, Palawan, was one of the most memorable trips I've ever had. It was my first time hearing about this hidden gem, and I was instantly captivated by its charm and pristine beauty. In this blog, I'll share our trip's itinerary to inspire your own getaway. From the breathtaking 14-kilometer Long Beach to the warm hospitality of the locals, San Vicente truly lived up to its reputation as an emerging paradise in Palawan.

Getting to San Vicente

This beautiful coastal town can be reached via several transportation options depending on your starting point.

By land: San Vicente is accessible from Puerto Princesa City by bus (5-6 hours) or by van (3-4 hours) via the Irawan terminal. If you're coming from El Nido, a private van is the fastest (2.5-3 hours) and more convenient option.
By air: Currently there are no direct flights coming from Manila so you can reach San Vicente either by flying to the nearby towns Puerto Princesa or El Nido, and then taking the bus or van. If you're coming from Cebu, you can fly directly to San Vicente via Cebu Pacific Air. Their flights operate 4x weekly on Tuesdays, Thursday, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Where we stayed in San Vicente

We stayed at The Hotel Elizabeth Resort and Villas for the entire trip and it felt like a tropical dream. On our first two nights, we stayed in one of their luxurious villas, and then switched to one of their deluxe rooms on our third night. Both offered the same first-class accommodations and amenities and I highly recommend it if you prefer a quiet escape in San Vicente.

4D3N San Vicente Itinerary

If you are planning a trip to San Vicente, take note that public transportation is quite scarce in the town but they have e-trikes, motorbikes, and tricycles that you can rent or hire to go around. But if you prefer a more convenient and hassle-free trip, there are several travel agencies who can help plan your trip for you.

Day 1
📍 Port Barton

It was a little after 3PM when we arrived in San Vicente. We checked in at The Hotel Elizabeth Resort and Villas and left for Port Barton by 4PM. We took a speed boat to Port Barton which took around 25 (or 30) minutes.

Port Barton is an up and coming go-to travel destination in San Vicente. It gives off a laidback vibe but still offers a lot of activities to do including kayaking, scuba diving, and snorkeling around its nearby islands.

We went to Port Barton to have our dinner at Barton Bistro and a few cocktails at CocoRico Hostel. We also had a scoop of delicious gelato from Gelateria di Barton. Their ube and dark chocolate flavors are my favorite! You shouldn't miss this when you're in Port Barton. And yes, the sunset in Port Barton was stunning. I was in total awe just watching the sky in colors of pink, purple, and orange.

Day 2 (Land Tour)
📍 Hundred Steps
📍 Inandeng River Cruise
📍 Long Beach
📍 Elena's Campsite, Long Beach
📍 SanVic Viewpoint
📍 Bato ni Ningning
📍 Pamana Agri-Site
📍 Turtle Beach Resort

Day 2 was the longest day of our entire trip. Call time was 5:30AM because we had to catch the sunrise at the Hundred Steps view deck. And I tell you, waking up early for it was really worth it. We stayed at the view deck for a little bit and paired the beautiful view with a hot brewed coffee and pan de sal. Perfect combination!

Then, we cruised along the Mangrove Inandeng River on a floating hut. This river spans over 2.5 kilometers but only the 1.5km is allowed for navigation by kayak, paddle boats, or small pump boats. The river actually meets the Long Beach, which is touted as the longest beach in the country with a 14.7-kilometer stretch of white sand. The Long Beach is also another perfect spot in San Vicente where you can witness the perfect sunset.

After the relaxing river cruise, we had lunch at Elena's Campsite in Long Beach, then headed to the famous SanVic View Point and Bato ni Ningning to enjoy breathtaking sceneries of San Vicente's beaches, hills, mountains, and islands around the area.

Then, we spent some time with the locals in Pamana Agri-Site and feasted on the healthy and delicious farm-to-table meals that they prepared. We capped off the night with some more food (buffalo wings and sisig!!!) at the Turtle Beach Resort.

Day 3 (Island Hopping Tour)
📍 Twin Reef
📍 Exotic Island and Maxima Beach
📍 Luli Sandbar
📍 White Beach
📍 Port Barton
📍 Mango Bar & Restaurant

Day 3 was spent exploring the nearby islands in San Vicente. First stop was Twin Reef, one of the most popular reefs in town, where we snorkeled and witnessed the vibrant life underwater. Second stop was Exotic Island where we stayed for quite a while since this is where we also had our lunch. We also crossed to Maxima Beach since it was just right across Exotic Island. Note that this is only possible during low tide and if the undercurrent isn't strong. They say sea turtles can sometimes be seen around but unfortunately, we saw none of those turtles during our visit.

Third stop was the Luli Sandbar or also more commonly known as the Starfish Island since there are a lot of starfish around. Fourth stop was White Beach where we simply relaxed and lounged under the coconut trees. Last stop was Port Barton because some of us wanted to buy some souvenirs and I wanted to have another round of gelato.

After the island hopping tour, we went back to the resort, freshened up, and chased the sunset. We had our last dinner at Mango Bar & Restaurant and their kinilaw na tangigue was my favorite. Then, we enjoyed the rest of the night at the resort swimming in the pool, having s'mores and cocktails, and just pure bonding.

Day 4
📍 Bigaho Falls

Finally, day 4 in San Vicente, we only had the morning for all of us so we spent it swimming in the very cold waters of Bigaho Waterfalls. It was the perfect send-off after all the activities we had in the previous days.

San Vicente is a quaint town that offers serene beaches, lush landscapes, and a quiet escape from crowded tourist hubs (which I love). This emerging go-to destination in Palawan is perfect for relaxation and eco-adventures. Trust me, you will fall in love with the untouched beauty of San Vicente and will make you want to go back again and again.
